March 3, 1920 - July 1, 2010



Bill peacefully left his home here for heaven with loved ones by his side Thursday, July 1st, 2010. He touched so many lives with his outgoing nature and whimsical sense of humor.

During WWII, he joined the Army Air Corps and served six years. A number of those years were as a meteorologist in India. Bill retired as Western Regional Manager after 37 ½ years (never having missed a day!) with the US Chamber of Commerce, a source of many stories and lifelong friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorotha, of 13 years and his daughter, Nancy Lyn Glaser of Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille, of 55 years and daughter Bonnie Jean Horwedel. He was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also, loved and will be sorely missed by his three step-daughters Terri Young of Mt. Pleasant, Utah, Monica Devlin of Pahoa, Hi and Laurinda Kittrell of Redding, CA along with several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

A service in celebration of his life will be held on Friday, July 16th at 10 a.m. at Shasta Baptist Church, 6600 Westside Rd., Redding, CA 96001 .Inurnment will follow at the Veteran's cemetery, 11800 Gas Point Rd, Igo, CA at 11:30 a.m.


In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shasta Baptist Scholarship fund.
