James Clifton Denny
8/3/1922 -1/23/2010



Born in Palo Alto, CA. Graduated from Palo Alto High School, 1939, and UCB Forestry School, 1948. In WW2, he was a B-17 co-pilot, flying with the 379th Bomb Group from England. In 1948, he went to work for CA. Dept. of Forestry in the Redding as a dispatcher, retiring 32 years later as Chief of Conservation and Resources in Sacramento. In 1984, he moved to his forest property in Shingletown to practice sustainable forest management. He faithfully served God in life and churches everywhere he lived.



He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann E Denny, and children Stuart, Coeur d' Alene ID; James, Roseburg, OR; Matthew, Victorville, CA; Katharine D Salusso, Sausalito, CA; seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pre-deceased by daughter Christine D Mitchell.



Memorial service: Sunday February 14, 3:30 PM at Open Door Community Church, 33883 Highway 44, Shingletown, CA.



In lieu of flowers, gifts to ODCC or to Haitian relief through the Red Cross or Salvation Army would be gratefully received.
