
Jim was born in Astoria, Oregon to Emmett and Marjorie Cochrane. He grew up in Astoria and Seaside, OR. After graduating high school Jim joined the Air Force and served for 12 years. After the Air Force he moved to Novato, CA and was employed for 25 years in San Francisco at Dow Jones-Wall Street Journal. In 1980, he moved to Kennewick, WA and worked at Westinghouse Hanford Nuclear Facility until retirement in 1991. Jim then moved to Redding and worked as an ombusdman at the Senior Legal Center. He was an advocate for people in nursing homes, a job he loved. Jim and his wife enjoyed their motorhome and their many trips with the Trailduster RV Club.
He is survived by his wife Catharina (Tina) Cochrane, his brother Bill Cochrane, children James Cochrane, Michael Pas, Mark Pas, Mia Gallo and Robert Pas, 12 grandchidren, 5 great grandchildren and nephews and niece. Jim was a sweet man who will be greatly missed by many.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, May 5th at Allen & Dahl Chapel on 2655 Eureka Way, (243-1525).
